Do These Greaseproof Sheets Contain PFAS
No. Our custom greaseproof paper sheets contain no intentionally added PFAS per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. The grease resistance in every sheet we manufacture comes from supercalendering, not from fluorine-based coatings. That distinction matters because regulators are now enforcing it.
California AB 1200 restricted PFAS in food packaging effective January 2023. New York, Washington and Minnesota followed equivalent legislation. A health inspector in any of these states can request documentation and ‘we use food-safe paper’ does not satisfy that request. What satisfies it is a Declaration of Compliance stating no intentionally added PFAS, and a Total Organic Fluorine test report showing results below 100 ppm.
